Perfect hotel to meet with local family in a great location. Next to Ala Moana Shopping Center and short walk to the Hawai'i Convention Center, this hotel is convenient to these locations.

Enjoyed our entire 5 night stay. This is a very large property. Staff were very friendly. Our room had a magnificent view. Very very short walk to Waikiki. The pool was lovely. Gym well equipped and maintained. 4 out of 5 for some very workable reasons. Recommend Valet over self parking. The garage is very tight and difficult to navigate. A few extra bucks per day and problem solved. Rooms are dated, especially the bathroom. Would like to see more “automation” in the check in check out process. Long lines.

Stay was great except the bathtub was very high and difficult to get in. Bed was also pretty high and a challenge to get on. Everything else was great.

This hotel is very almost completely perfect. From the first drive up, the helpful staff and gleaming lobby really show off. During the stay, the location absolutely can't be beat. With the Ala Moana Center being such a landmark, transportation couldn't be easier and the Center makes eating and grabbing supplies a breeze. The pool area is outfitted well and watching the planes come and go from the deck adds something neat. Even the elevators are something to marvel! Even from a higher floor, we would be on the ground floor in seconds. This does lead to one of the minor subtractions to the perfection. Our room was next to the elevators and the wall there is thin. We aren't light sleepers, so we didn't have issue with it but I can see it being a problem. The room itself is also a small detractor. While not bad, the room was small and the bathroom, very small. The room would have been better served by one queen and more space to spread out than the two doubles it had. It also showed its age and wear and tear. This is to be expected though and honestly, barely matters. I love that the a/c only worked when the lanai door was closed. That was a thoughtful and nice touch. The bathroom really showed its age and could do with a refresh. The lighting was terrible and the tile grout was only still white underneath the sink. Not great. But again, all in working order and the shower did get hot quickly. Overall, the Ala Moana gets an enthusiastic 9.5/10.
