It is in a great location, large spacious room, everything is within walking distance, great view of the beach from balcony. Good facilities throughout the twin towns complex, several pools, mini golf, arcade, walk to restaurants from within the complex.

Unsuitable for wheelchair users first room stay

The designated apartment at the Mantra was non compliant with disability access standards and made our stay extremely difficult and disappointing. As it was a 2 night stay we packed up and went to reception seeking a transfer to a suitable room. The person at the reception desk was totally unsympathetic and rude to us, as if we were making trouble to suit our own means. She recorded the many points I raised including not being able to shower or sit on the toilet because the seat was not fastened making a transfer extremely dangerous, and then stated she would discuss our issue with her manager. After some time she returned saying they would allow a room at the Sebel for us (which incidentally I had booked into in the first place) but there would have to pay an additional $50. I was rather taken aback and told her so, considering it was not my fault that the room we were booked into was not disability accessible in the first place!). So we paid up and were put into a perfectly lovely and accessible room at the Sebel. The experience made our break away disappointing and left a bad taste in our mouth. I will write to management however because I would not want another person who uses a wheelchair to go through the same experience as we did. In fact another person could even take the hotel experience to the Anti discrimination commission and or sue the hotel for advertising and promoting a room as accessible when it doesn't comply with the legislation. P.S. I do not hold all staff responsible because it is up to management to train staff on the right questions to ask at booking time and their attitude and manner at reception.

An excellent stay overall, however 2 problems with room. Balcony doors (runners) were difficult to open and close, and hence a/c shut down. Secondly the shower door frame was rusty in corners on floor and needs replacing. Apart from that the hotel is in good shape and is located in an excellent position close to Twin Towns Club, shops, beach and restaurants.
