I just popped into Darwin for a fishing trip so I wanted a hotel close by. I had a room with a sea view and queen size bed. It was clean, comfortable and had everything that I needed. The hotel has a majestic look from the front but could use a new paint job and freshen up the decor. The colour scheme is from the 1980’s. It has so much potential! The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was nice after a hot day fishing. I would come back.

Room not available at check in. Host completely unempathetic and offered no concession such as secure carparking. Bed was as hard as a rock. We checked out the same day we checked in and went home instead of spending the night in the city.

We booked a one bedroom apartment while we were transiting for an overnight stay and was pleasantly surprised by the value. What I liked most, was the benefit of having a washer, dryer and a large fridge / freezer. Depending upon your level of membership, this was not overpriced compared to other places

One staff on desk meant long delays to check in She was very good and friendly but stressed The water quality was questionable, coffee tasted funny / off in the room despite boiling the kettle a couple of times. When we upgraded the room it was very very good. Liked the location. Guessing once building works are completed the water will settle and there will be food available - I hope so. Some travellers are too tired to go walking for food after a big day.
