This June, rally to Queensland for its exciting championships

International Rally of Queensland

There's certainly something about rally car racing that we all seem to love. Be it the growl of the engines, the fear of a crash or the thrill of seeing a car fly past faster than you'd ever dare drive yourself, this international sport is exciting to watch.

Queensland has its own rally championship that you should consider holidaying to see. Here's a little more about the event.

International Rally of Queensland

For years, the International Rally of Queensland has been a rally lover's dream on the east coast of Australia. Held over three days (June 19-21) on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, the race predominantly features gravel roads, with forest stages on both weekend days.

It all started back in 1968 with a different name: Rally Queensland. At nearly five decades old, it is the longest rally in the national championship, and draws numerous international visitors to take part. The warm, clear weather and excellent resort accommodation facilities of the local region make it perfect for a race, where spectators can come and enjoy the excitement, whilst also exploring the many tourist attractions on offer here.

"You'll get to mix with competitors, teams and media representatives from all over the world, as people flock to the region for this arm of the FIA Asia Pacific Championship."

This year, however, you needn't just be a spectator. Why not try your hand at being an official?

Applications are open for those wanting to join the rally team and help manage the event. You won't need any special licence or prior experience, all you need is a love of the sport and an eagerness to help out. You'll get to mix with competitors, teams and media representatives from all over the world, as people flock to the region for this arm of the FIA Asia Pacific Championship.

So don't just sit at home and watch your favourite rally stars on the TV, head to Queensland this June and be a part of the action yourself.
