Race through a rainbow at the Sydney Colour Run 2014

Get bold and bright with the Colour Run in Sydney.Race through a rainbow at the Sydney Colour Run 2014

Have a ball at this year's Colour Run, which is taking place in Sydney on August 24. This is one bright and bold event you don't want to miss - it's set to be an absolute blast.

What exactly is a Colour Run? Marketed as the "the Happiest 5km on the Planet", this 5 kilometre run welcomes anybody and everybody of all ages and fitness levels. You can take as long as you like to complete the course, so you don't need to be a marathon runner to partake!

What's the colourful catch? You're required to wear white, as you will pass through 4 'colour zones' as you walk, jog or run. In these zones you will be bombarded by 100 per cent natural, food dyed and graded cornstarch coloured pink, orange, blue and yellow - so by the end of the course, you'll be a veritable rainbow!

It's supposed to be fun, so people come together to walk, or even dance, their way along the course - and there's a fun 'Finish Festival' at the end where you can wind down in the party-like atmosphere.

Don't worry about being stained by colour - there's a cleaning zone at the end that will blow off loose powder, and the rest will come off in the wash.

For your entry fee, you'll get a race kit complete with T-shirt, headband, wristband and temporary tattoos to really help you get into the spirit of the event.

While the Colour Run Sydney isn't until August 24, you'll need to register early to secure a spot. If you don't want to take part in the race itself, you can always volunteer!
