How to make your accommodation feel like home
Moving to a new city is a big endeavour, and it can take a while to settle in once you make the move.
There are all sorts of things to get used to, including new surroundings, possibly a new job and developing a circle of friends.
In time, your new city may feel more and more like home. However, there are some touches you can add to your long term accommodation to help you settle in. Here are a few ideas.
Photographs
Get some photographs printed of your favourite places back home, as well as your family and friends. Grab some frames and arrange a few photos around the room. Pop one on the kitchen bench, another on your bedside table, and another on the coffee table, for example.
These will serve as precious reminders of your loved ones and help your place feel more homely.

Treasures and trinkets
Do you have home decor that you're incredibly attached to, or a jewellery box that you just love? It might be worth bringing such pieces along to display so you can really feel comfortable at your new home.
Bring along a couple of personal favourite items to your new home and you'll instantly feel much more relaxed.
Things to remember
Your new accommodation might have certain rules about whether you can hang things on the walls or make any changes. While having a framed photograph beside your bed won't be a problem, nailing into the wall to hang it might be - so check out the fine-print first!
There are still plenty of other personal touches you will be able to do to your accommodation to feel more at home.
