If you're looking to escape the daily grind in a place that's a little more off the beaten path, you'll find plenty to satisfy the whole family in Tweed.

The Tweed Shirestretches across the Wollumbin Mt Warning Caldera and is home to three main centres - Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah and Kingscliff as well as the beautiful Tweed Coast.

Eco adventures

Tweed is renowned for being one of Australia's most eye-catching and unique natural landscapes, encompassing a vast area that contains everything from forests and valleys to rugged coastline and sandy beaches.

Take a walk by the Antarctic Beech Trees in the valley or trek up to the top of Wollumbin Mt Warning for an unparalleled view of the area, and experience a beautiful sunrise. As the most easterly point in all of mainland Australia, Mt Warning is the first place to get the sun's rays every morning.

There are also plenty of national parks and reserves throughout the region, containing some of the richest and most diverse ecological systems in the country.

Beach lifestyle

A totally different experience from the epic peak of Mt Warning awaits you along the Kingscliff coastline.

A series of golden beaches interspersed between headlands, you can surf the waves or splash around in the shallows, take a trip to the Point Danger Lookout or see the view from Fingal Lighthouse.

There is also plenty of holiday accommodation nearby, with Mantra on Salt Beach located just 2km from the main street of Kingscliff.

For a great place to swim or surf, check out Casuarina Beach along the Tweed Coast. You can also take the Tourist Drive to check out some great beaches along the coast, with stops along the way at Hastings, Bogangar and Pottsville - a charming small town with some busy markets.
