Playtime in Perth

With a quickly growing laneway scene, a plethora of major city events and picturesque wineries just a stones-throw away, Perth is the perfect place to play, whether it’s for a fun family getaway or a blissful romantic escape.

Foodies Feast: Best places to eat in Perth

The Melbourne laneway trend has found its way to Perth! Hidden throughout the city, you’re bound to find a laneway scattered with some of the best restaurants in Perth no matter where you are. Check out Wolf Lane, Howard Lane and Shafto Lane in the CBD, or Forrest Walk in Subiaco and Williams Lane in Northbridge.

The city hub of Northbridge is also home to Perth’s Chinatown and the highest number of bars, pubs and clubs in Western Australia. Grab some yum cha, check out a beer garden or satisfy your sweet tooth with a slice of cake!

Looking for something a little more la-di-da? The highly acclaimed Cornerstone Bar & Kitchen at Mantra on Hay is one of the best romantic restaurants in Perth (you must try the bourbon caramel popcorn!). It’s also the perfect spot for a delicious buffet breakfast and that early morning caffeine fix.

Located at Mantra on Murray Society Bar & Kitchen is the ideal Perth restaurant for an afternoon bite and classy cocktail and if you happen to be staying at the hotel, you can take advantage of the 24-hour room service, perfect for those late-night munchies.

Heading out to explore the city? Take advantage of Tribe Perth’s “Grab and Go” service at the onsite café to satisfy your hunger and give you stamina for the busy day ahead.

Greater Goods: Day trips from Perth

Get out! There are so many places to explore outside of the city, so why not make a day of it and discover some of Western Australia’s most beautiful destinations? Hop in the car and head east of Perth to the Avon Valley and Chittering Valley. Drive through quaint townships, enjoy a picnic by the fast flowing Avon River or sample fresh produce along the way.

Nestled along the sheltered shores of Geographe Bay, Busselton is a water-lovers playground! Kids will love the safe swimming beaches and there are plenty of water activities including snorkelling, diving, fishing and sailing.

A few hours’ drive north along the Indian Ocean Drive will take you to Nambung National Park, home of the Pinnacles. These ancient limestone pillars rise out of the desert creating an eerie, alien-like landscape, a must-see sight.

For something a little more adventurous, try sandboarding in Lancelin. Glide over the glistening white sand dunes on a board or hop aboard a 4 wheel drive tour.

Creating waves across Instagram all over the world, a trip to Perth wouldn’t be complete without a quokka selfie. Take the ferry to Rottnest Island (WA kids travel for free with the Quokka Club) where you’ll find these small marsupials, just waiting to smile for the perfect shot - #cheese! Stay a while and have a swim (there are over 60 beaches to choose from), discover what lies beneath the sea on the Underwater Explorer or hire a bike to explore the island.
