It's time to get out your ripped jeans, leather jackets and channel your inner rock star, because some serious rock icons are about to head Down Under - and this is a show you don't want to miss.

That's right, the legendary rock'n'roll band the Rolling Stones are getting ready for their return to Australian shores for the first time since 2006, and it's going to be an absolute smash.

Named the Rolling Stones 14 On Fire tour, the band is visiting Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Hanging Rock and Brisbane, before making their way across the ditch to rock Auckland, New Zealand.

Get ready to hear some of your favourite classic Rolling Stones tracks with some new hits thrown in the mix. Rest assured, while the set list for the Australian shows is still unknown, you're bound to be treated to some timeless tracks ranging from Paint It Black, Gimme Shelter and Satisfaction to their newer single, Doom and Gloom.

And you've got more than just your favourite hits to look forward to. The Rolling Stones, particularly front-man Mick Jagger, are renowned for their incredible stage presence, banter and dance moves. This is, after all, rock'n'roll, so get ready to be blown away.

The stage design itself it set to be mind-blowing, extending out into the audience with the band's classic tongue and lips logo. There is a range of tickets available, from the thrilling up-close standing pit that will give fans the ultimate encounter to the seating for those who'd rather sit back and relax. Then there are the video screens and special effects for that extra special X factor, not to mention Jimmy Barnes as supporting act!

The band themselves are also incredibly excited about heading back Down Under to play this awesome series of gigs. On the Ticketek website, Mick Jagger is quoted as saying "Can't wait to reconnect with all our friends in Australia and New Zealand. It's been a while since we've played to you all, so we are looking forward to being back on stage and playing your favourite songs."

That means at these concerts, you can look forward to a night featuring plenty of Jagger's trademark energy and charisma.

Where to stay for the concert

It’s important to make sure you're staying somewhere nice and handy to the arena. If you're heading to the Adelaide show, check out Mantra Hindmarsh Square and Mantra on Frome for your accommodation needs.

When it comes to Perth, Mantra on Murray is a great option. In Melbourne, Mantra on Jolimont, Mantra Southbank and Mantra 100 Exhibition Street all within walking distance of the concert venue.  Mantra Parramatta Hotel has you covered in Sydney while Mantra on the Quay and Mantra Terrace Hotel are both wonderful options for stays in Brisbane.

These destinations are all extremely handy to each city's arena or concert location, so you won't have any troubles getting to and from the gig. That means all you need to do is get excited about the incredible night out you're going to have at the Rolling Stones, with Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie commanding the stage and taking you on the wild ride of a lifetime. Don't miss this opportunity - who knows then they'll be back!
