Fire your life up a notch by seeing the Nitro Circus

Nitro circus live

There are few circuses more exhilarating than one fuelled on nitro. After completing a highly successful tour around Australia in 2013, the internationally renowned Nitro Circus is back on our home turf to show off some more of its live mayhem.

This is your chance to see some of the most exciting live stunts in the world, performed by multi-award winning X-games legends, such as Travis Pastrana himself. Make sure to check out which venue you'd love to see the show at, and get your holiday accommodation booked.

Nitro Circus Live

This year the Circus has been travelling through regional Australia, showcasing its wild talent in some of our smaller cities. Places such as Wollongong, Newcastle, Hobart and the Gold Coast have already had their fill, but you can still get to the finale if you head for Darwin on April 24.

This year the theme of the show is 'retro', which is visualised through their multi-million dollar set and unique 1920's Barnum and Bailey-style circus aesthetic. This theme isn't just a backdrop, however, but is a fundamental part of the entire event. For example, some of the weird contraptions that will be performing stunts this year include a bathtub, rocking horse and a penny-farthing!

"We have spared no expense in bringing this show to back to Australia," said Nitro Circus CEO Michael Porra. "Fans in Hobart, Mackay, Wollongong and all the regional centres will be able to watch the same athletes that have performed at the O2 Arena in London and Madison Square Garden in New York."

Of course, the classics will also be there, including motocross, BMX and FMX stunts. In fact, Australia's own Josh Sheehan is one of the performers, and will be attempting one of the most dangerous motocross stunts around - the double back flip! This not too long after 'Sheeny' was crowned champion of the famous Red Bull X-Fighters freestyle motocross competition in Africa, just last year.

"After completing a highly successful tour around Australia in 2013, the internationally renowned Nitro Circus is back on our home turf to show off some more of its live mayhem."

As for the star attraction, Travis Pastrana, for those in the know he hardly needs an introduction to get you excited. Pastrana as won 17 medals at the X Games, and competed in motocross, rally car driving and NASCAR! For most, a chance to see the legend live is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Where to see Nitro Circus

To see this spectacular event live, you're going to need to book your hotel in the right place. Though most of the shows have now already taken place, the finale in Darwin is certainly not to be missed.

The show will be taking place at TIO Stadium, which can be found just northeast of Darwin Airport. If you are staying in a Darwin CBD hotel, jumping on the number 5 bus route will take you right next to the stadium. Otherwise you could rent a car or consider a taxi, depending on your budgetary requirements.

As for the hotel itself, consider one of our two Mantra options located conveniently at the heart of Darwin.

Right along the waterfront lies Mantra on the Esplanade, adjacent to the relaxing Bicentennial Park. There are plenty of contemporary room options to choose from here, including hotel rooms, multi-bedroom apartments and penthouse suites. The hotel also has its own day spa and swimming pool, as well as an onsite restaurant if you're hungry after the Circus!

Deeper into the CBD, right where all the action is happening, is Mantra Pandanas. If you're not lounging in the lagoon-style pool or working up a sweat in the fully equipped gymnasium, take the time to drift to sleep and dream about doing your own awesome stunts in one of this hotel's many comfortable room types.
