Colour your world with a visit to the Australian Body Art Festival

Australian Body Art Festival

Have you ever witnessed a body art show before? The creative colours, surreal shapes and charismatic characters that come to life during such a performance are hard to describe, as there are few other situations where you will look up at a performer and truly struggle to believe that they are not wearing a costume - that the art work is painted on.

If you have never seen one, make sure you book holiday accommodation on the Sunshine Coast this year to join in the body art fun at Eumundi.

Australian Body Art Festival

The Australian Body Art Festival is held in the sunny township of Eumundi, and is a celebration of the passion, skill and creativity present in the body art industry. It is a chance for professionals to showcase their skill, to learn, play and network near one of the country's most beautiful seaside destinations.

It's also a great opportunity for amateur enthusiasts and anyone else with an interest to witness the spectacle that is live body art.

"There is also a face painting, air brushing, wearable art and even doll-painting session, so make sure you pick the one that suits your talents and get stuck in!

Here is some of what you can expect from the 2015 event:

To promote yourself in the industry and test your skills against other professionals, entering a competition at the Body Art Festival is an opportunity you can't pass up.

Are you handy with a brush and sponge? Join the Brush and Sponge Competition, where you will be given six hours to produce your masterpiece at the Eumundi Amphitheatre.

Those of you who love thinking outside the box and coming up with surreal, yet beautiful, creations, should try entering the Special Effects Competition.

There is also a face painting, air brushing, wearable art and even doll-painting session, so make sure you pick the one that suits your talents and get stuck in!

Other events

During your stay in Eumundi, make sure to visit the Evening Gala Spectacular, or one of the four workshops taking place. There's even a beginners lesson, so don't be shy.
