Best Gold Coast Cafes & Restaurants

To break the fast

Elk Espresso Café – Broadbeach

Whether it’s a savoury or sweet breakfast you desire, Elk Espresso has you covered. With a laidback beachside vibe, dishes like Basil and Chilli scrambled eggs or Brioche French Toast with figs and mascarpone on the menu and perfectly blended coffee, you won’t be disappointed.

Paddock Bakery – Miami

A local favourite, Paddock Bakery is a little tucked away – which only adds to its charm. Just off the Gold Coast Highway discover the white weather-boarded house and its quaint garden café.  Home to the best ‘dippy eggs’ on the coast and an array of delectable baked goods, we don’t blame you if you go back again!

Paradox Coffee Roasters – Surfers Paradise

Located in the 4217 precinct of Surfers Paradise, Paradox Coffee Roasters has quickly established itself as a go-to Gold Coast breakfast spot. Utilising local produce, the all-day breakfast menu has all the usual favourites. We recommend the ‘Bit Posh’ a bagel filled with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with truffle to top it off.

For wining & dining

Etsu Izakaya– Mermaid Beach

If you’re after a truly unique dining option, you can’t go past Etsu Izakaya in Mermaid Beach - if you can find it that is! Hidden behind a large wooden sliding door, marked simply by a red Japanese lantern, when you enter you’ll find it hard to believe you’re dining just off the Gold Coast Highway. It’s authentic Japanese with a modern twist, and the interior décor certainly ties into that as well. If it’s a special date night you’re after, this is the place.

Justin Lane – Burleigh Heads

Looking for the perfect place for a dinner with friends? Justin Lane is where you need to book. Located in Burleigh Heads, it’s a Gold Coast institution and serves the tastiest pizza at this end of the coast. With a newly opened rooftop bar and view over beautiful Burleigh Beach, it’s also the perfect place to go for afternoon drinks.

Brooklyn Depot – Surfers Paradise

Just next to Paradox Coffee Roasters in 4217, you’ll find Brooklyn Depot. Wholly embracing the return to the 50’s diner style menus, it’s hearty, delicious and the perfect comfort food. With burgers, hot dogs, wings, onion rings, specialty beers and monster shakes on the menu – there is bound to be something for everyone. Just make sure you come hungry!
