Dated rooms, unfriendly staff, Hard to find carpark

We arrived at the hotel to stay for two nights, and the woman on the front counter was extremely dismissive and rude. We provided all information to the woman, and she then proceeded to charge us for the parking. I asked "i thought parking was included", rather than her looking at what my inclusions were, she said "WELL, IS IT ON YOUR RECEIPT?" Meaning i had to look through my emails with my toddler in hand rather than her just looking on her computer for my inclusions. I then show her my confirmation and then she just shrugs her shoulders - almost like she didnt get her bonus for charging us for parking. Fast forward to then going into the room, on first glance it looks OK however on further review, the lounges were deteriorated, sitting on springs. The kitchen appliances were faulty, the TV's were so old and barely worked. The dining chairs were disgusting and needed updating desperately. For the price we were about to pay, it sure was not worth the money. All of this was whilst my husband was trying to find the allocated car space the woman at the desk gave us. He followed the "map" for 45 minutes to try and find this spot - only to find out that it was already allocated to another guest and the woman just couldnt be bothered to give us a different spot. The only positive of the experience was the interaction we had was with the gentleman on the front desk (i cant remember his name, he was only quite new to the business he said and was working PM on 5/4/23). He was lovely, polite and sympathetic when we spoke with him. Five stars for him. The location of the hotel is excellent, it is just a shame the rooms are in need of a desperate refresh for the price you are paying per room.

The lifts were a disaster. Too often we could not get up or down floors without an exceptionally long wait. Lifts were too full to get into far too often. Car parking was a gamble: 5 spot choices and we had to drive around to find one of them, it discouraged us from going out exploring in the car. Reception was in one side of the Hotel and we were in the other side: hopeless when booking-in and booking-out.

Our overall experience was disappointing to say the least, starting with our arrival where we were told we’d have to pay an extra $80 for car parking on top of our $1000 room, if we knew the parking wasn’t included we probably wouldn’t have booked here Once we got up to our ocean view room, we had some ocean but majority of the view was city and buildings, there’s so much blocking it’s not worth paying extra for the view Finally during our stay the lifts kept malfunctioning causing us waits of over 30 mins to leave and return to the apartment, not ideal when your trying to go out on holiday
