Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Mount Warning

World Heritage listed, volcanic Mount Warning provides a sanctuary of ancient forest including giant stinging trees, figs, booyongs, carabeens, brush box, and flame trees. Over 100 species of gorgeous birds as well as cute little Aussie animals and reptiles abound.

Climb the famous Mount Warning Summit Track, which will lead you to 360 degree views reaching every distant horizon. Or perhaps the Lyrebird Track would be more to your liking, crossing Breakfast Creek before winding through palm forest to a platform set amongst the lush subtropical rainforest.

Coolangatta Gold Surf Carnival Surf, sand and sweat is the order of the day! The iconic Coolangatta Gold ironman race plus great events like Great Gold Coast Ocean Swim, a 5km beach fun run, the Sandstorm Volleyball tournament and just a family fun day. Held annually in October.

Cooly Rocks On annual Rock n Roll Festival

Cooly Rocks On is just too groovy for words. Thisnostalgiabased50s and 60s festival is held every June and features over 1200 hot rods, custom and classic cars as well as endless Rock ‘n Roll, Rockabilly and Swing entertainment over 11 days.

The festival is free to enter and is visited by over 50,000 people. Runs from the end of May to the second week of June 2013.

Quicksilver Pro The Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro is one of the most prestigious surfing events on Earth and it kicks off on the Gold Coast. This mobile event has Snapper Rocks serving as the primary venue, but moves to nearby Duranbah Beach, Greenmount, Kirra, Burleigh Heads and as far north as Stradbroke Island should conditions call for it.
Held annually in March.
