Spice Temple is the new restaurant from Sydney food-star Neil Perry, offering modern Chinese food, inspired by cuisine from all over China: Sichuan, Yunnan, Hunan, JiangXi and more.
The restaurant is designed by Bates Smart, and is housed in the “basement” of the Art Deco City Mutual Building in central Sydney. Spice Temple is entered via a discreet and mysterious doorway and will offer a warm and dramatically lit dining room. While there will be little reference to Asia in the architecture, the space will be intimate, relaxed and sexy, and have influences of the exotic street hawker food markets in China.
Spice Temple has a 100-strong wine list, each wine carefully chosen to complement Chinese food.
