The Wollondilly Visitor Centre has produced a Scenic Drive kit for visitors to The Wollondilly Shire.
The kit consists of six scenic drives in The Shire. In each of the drives, the approximate drive time and kilometres is given along with information on what to see along the way.
The six drives are as follows:
* Scenic Drive 1 - Burragorang and the Bushrangers.
The drive will take you from Picton through Oakdale, Nattai, The Oaks, Mount Hunter and then via Razorback Lookout to Picton.
The drive time is approximately one and half hours and is approximately 65 kilometres.
* Scenic Drive 2 - The Golden Triangle.
This drive links up Picton, Thirlmere (including Thirlmere Lakes National Park), and Tahmoor before heading back to Picton.
The drive time is approximately one hour and is approximately 50 kilometres.
* Scenic Drive 3 - Dingoes and Dams.
The drive will take you south through Tahmoor and Bargo to the spectacular Avon and Nepean Dams, then to The Dingo Sanctuary and the return drive to Tahmoor and Picton via Arina Road.
The drive time is approximately one hour and is approximately 63 kilometres.
* Scenic Drive 4 - High Fliers and the Nepean.
This drive links up Wilton, Douglas Park and Menangle villages, and includes a visit to The Skydiving Centre at Wilton. The drive also incorporates incredible gorges and pastoral land, followed by a return to Picton via Razorback Mountain Lookout.
The drive time is approximately one hour and is approximately 50 kilometres.
* Scenic Drive 5 - The Appin Way.
Before leaving Picton please pick up an Appin Walking Tour brochure from The Wollondilly Visitor Information Centre.
Tour Historic Appin Village via Wilton, then travel to the spectacular Cataract Dam.
The drive time is approximately 1 hour and is approximately 50 kilometres.
* Scenic Drive 6 - Warragamba Waters.
Leaving Picton via Barkers Lodge Road, then north via The Oaks and on to Warragamba to view its spectacular dam from the viewing platform.
Then either go on to Penrith or Sydney or return with a diversion from The Oaks via Mount Hunter and Cawdor to Picton.
This drive is approximately two hours and is approximately 70 kilometres.
