Top 5 Aquatic Adventures in Bunbury

You know the drill - its summer holidays, its hot all day and all you and the kids want to do is cool down in the water. In Bunbury, Western Australia there are multiple options for some aquatic fun – whether it’s a bit of action or a more relaxing day with the family you desire – there is something to keep everyone entertained and cool during the scorching summer!

1. Dolphin Discovery Centre – Koombana Drive

This is one the kids will absolutely love – especially those who are fascinated with the ocean! Learn all about these majestic, friendly creatures in the dolphin discovery zone, experience the thrill of swimming with the dolphins or join the Dolphin Eco Cruise to see these beautiful creatures in the wild. The Dolphin Discovery Centre is on the forefront of dolphin research and conservation efforts and is both a fun and educational day that the whole family will enjoy.

2. Lena Dive Wreck – depart from Back Beach

For the adventurous ones, the Lena Dive Wreck is a must visit. Located 3 nautical miles off Back Beach, the best way to snorkel or dive the wreck is with a diving tour provider. Ask your hotel reception if they have a team they can recommend. For a little bit of history, the Lena was apprehended and sunk by the Australian Navy for illegally fishing the rare Patagonian Toothfish back in 2002. Now covered in luminous coral, and supporting an ecosystem of beautiful tropical fish, be sure to go with an underwater camera.

3. White water rafting on the Collie River

Not for the faint hearted, this is one experience sure to get the pulse racing. If you’ve always had a desire to try out white water rafting, the pristine Collie River is the place to do it. Be ready for rapids, drops and waterfalls that may make your heart skip a beat. Afterwards, relax with a paddle around or swim in the calmer part of the river – though you may already be a little damp!
