Summer Nights in Brisbane for GREASE
It's time to head back down the hallways of Rydell High with Sandy, Danny and the gang, because GREASE is heading to Brisbane from August 20 for one week only.
If you don't already know the story, or need to convince a friend to come along with you, pick up a DVD of this classic film and watch it one more time before you see the characters and the story come to life on stage in front of you.
Grease originally began as a Broadway hit in 1972 - it wasn't actually until six years later when John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John made the story the highest grossing movie musical ever.
Now, Rob Mills of Australian Idol fame and upcoming star Gretel Scarlett are taking up the mantles of Danny and Sandy and heading this multi-million dollar production of Grease as it tours Australia.
"Brisbane is set to host the multi-million dollar production of GREASE when it comes to the city from August 20."
Also featured in the cast list is Bert Newton, radio host and celebrity extraordinaire, who will be filling the shoes of Vince Fontaine. Meanwhile, Todd McKenney will play the role of Teen Angel.
Don't forget to brush up on your lyrics, as there will be plenty of opportunities to sing along to all of your old favourites (or simply hum if you're shy!).
Remember Summer Nights, Sandy, Hopelessly Devoted to You, You're The One That I Want and all-time crowd favourite, Greased Lightnin'.
The show is being held at the Lyric Theatre on Brisbane's South Bank, so you can even book your Brisbane accommodation in just down the road in Mantra South Bank Brisbane for a quick walk to the event.
Once you've attended the show, you'll still be in central, thriving Brisbane where you can pop out for a post-show meal and drink to discuss all the highlights and your favourite characters!
