Make your way to Brisbane's RNA Show Grounds at 600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills, just a ten minute drive from the central city. Decide whether you'd like to attend over one weekend - or stay for both fun-filled weekends! Running from Friday August 8 until Sunday August 17, there's lots of time to soak in the festivities at this long-standing event, which has drawn audiences from across Australia year after year.

There are a range of ticket options available to suit everyone. From adult, teen and family passes, with kids under four years of age admitted for free.

Then there are bundles of tickets that include entry to certain special rides plus extras such as food - so you really do have plenty of choice.

One of the big highlights of the festival is its animals. There are usually more than 10,000 on show throughout the festival, including dogs, cats, fish, alpacas, cattle and more, and kids have ample opportunity to interact with them. From cuddling lambs to feeding a calf, some very special memories can be made.

Some of the other highlights include an animal nursery, milking barn, little miracles newborn corner and gorgeous feline, fish, and puppies pavilion.

Watch horses compete in activities such as show jumping, check out the fine fashion at Thoroughbred Day and see the variety of breeds out there at the Horse Breeds Expo.

That's not all. There will also be monster truck rides, fashion parades, dancers, live music and everything else that makes this festival so fun year upon year.

Don't worry about young bellies going hungry, because Ekka is full of Queensland's best flavours. From fresh seafood to organic vegetables plucked straight from the earth, everybody in the family will be more than satiated.

Visit the Gourmet Harvest precinct and have a meal prepared by an expert chef, or watch a celebrity chef demonstration at the Courier Mail Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show Stage. While there will be plenty of gourmet fare on offer, the kids will also be kept happy with festival classics such as candy floss.
