Take the plunge at Mooloolaba Beach Plunge into the Mooloolaba Mile Ocean Swim

If you're keen for a challenge, you might like to compete in Mooloolaba’s mile-long ocean swimming event. Or if taking the plunge isn’t your cup of tea, you might like to join as a spectator – just as fun and a lot drier!

What's known as the 'Mooloolaba Mile' is the second event in the 2014 Milk and Co Queensland Ocean Swim Series and it is taking place on February 16. Competitors swim for one mile (1.6 kilometres) in challenging open water. Both elite and beginner swimmers can partake in the event.

There is a half-mile (800 metre) course that requires minimal training or preparation, and a 300 metre kids' surf dash, so the whole family can get involved. This is for children aged eight years and over, and older family and friends can swim the course with the kids.
