Those who love all things art, cinema, performance, and literature may be interested in travelling to Perth for the Perth Festival, also known as the Perth International Arts Festival.

Taking place from February 7 to March 1, international, interstate and local acts will be in Perth to showcase moving, challenging, confronting and beautiful pieces of art and performance.

The program of festival events in Perth is incredibly diverse, with Israeli dance, Russian drama, Man Booker Prize winners and film premieres just some of what you'll experience during the festival.

Whether visiting as a family, with a partner, friends or alone, there is truly something for everybody to enjoy.

"This year, the festival kicks off on February 28 and runs until March 16, offering ample opportunities for a visit to the city.

One special event includes Spanish public theatre experts recreating a ship's voyage with fireworks and light, while another is a full-scale recreation of Stonehenge - as a bouncy castle.

Enjoy a Shakespearean classic with A Midsummer Night's Dream, or check out Australia's premiere of Not By Bread Alone.

Bring your young ones along to see the Australian premiere of The House Where Winter lives, an interactive theatre experience.

Great music will be in abundance too. Witness a performance of the tragic opera Otello, performed by the West Australian Opera and the Cape Town Opera Chorus. For a change of genre, check out New York indie rockers The National, or listen to the croon of Booker T Jones.

Of course, you'll need somewhere great to stay while experiencing all of the action. Why not stay at Mantra on Murray, which is in central Perth close to many of the venues, exhibitions and extravaganzas of the festival.

Enjoy the bar and restaurant, or cook your own meals in your kitchenette. You deserve the ultimate in comfort and convenience - after all, most of the time you'll be busy checking out the amazing festival.
