As a country, Australia has given some pretty great things to the world. There's the Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef, kangaroos, koalas and Hugh Jackman, just to name a few.

However, one area that Australia excels in is music. The ARIA Awards are held every year to celebrate the best of music Down Under, and this year ARIA Week is also back for its second round in Sydney.

First launched in 2012, ARIA Week is all about praising the artists, music and songs that have really made an impact on the airwaves this year with a jam-packed schedule of events.

It's all going down in the New South Wales capital, so if you're wondering what to do in Sydney it's definitely worth checking out.

ARIA Week 2013

This year, ARIA Week is set to launch even bigger and better than ever with a schedule full of gigs, showcases, conferences and much more.

One of the biggest events to look out for is the Electronic Music Conference (EMC) 2013, held over three days from December 2-4 and with the theme of "Asia in Focus".

On December 5, make sure you're in the crowd at the Musica Copa, an exhilarating five-a-side football tournament featuring musicians, industry and media stars battling it out for the charity of their choice.

The Oxford Art Factory it set to be one of the hotspots of this year's ARIA Week, hosting showcases from Warner Music on November 25, Universal Music on November 26 and Triple J on November 27.

It all builds up the hype around the 27th Annual ARIA Awards, where Australia's musical stars will be deservedly honoured for their artistic and creative efforts this year.

It's definitely the place to be if you're a fan of Australian music, so make sure you've got your tickets booked and your plans sorted to be in Sydney during this highly anticipated event.
