Things you don't need to take when you move
Moving cities and moving into Live@Mantra, a great long stay accommodation option, will come with the same question for many: How can I possibly relocate my life in one go?
The thing is, you don't really need to shift every single thing you own - let alone do it all in one trip.
It's simply too easy to empty out those closets and drawers and try to lug everything to your new city with you, which is simply not necessary.
The very first step to take is have a good hard look at all of your clothes, souvenirs and belongings and ask yourself why you're holding onto them. If you still use the items then they can stay, but the fact is that moving can be a great chance to have a good clean out of anything we've been hanging onto for sentimental reasons - when really the memory itself is enough.

Next, have a look at the calendar and then a map. Will you really need a bathing suit in Adelaide in the middle of July, or that winter coat in Darwin - ever? The time of year and the location of your new home will both play a part in your wardrobe selections.
Even if you are moving to an area with warm summers and cool winters, it's likely that you'll be able to get a gracious friend to send the remainder of your wardrobe to you when you need it. O, you can simply use it as an excuse to pop back for a visit.
Don't forget that some items are simply not needed. A towel for example, will take up a huge amount of room in your suitcase, but is something that will be included with your room at Live@Mantra.
If in doubt, pack only the things you would need on a regular week. Anything else can wait for you to make a return trip home to let everyone know how well you're doing!
