Melbourne gets on its glad rags for Spring Fashion Week
For some, spring is all about daffodils and lambs frolicking in paddocks. For others, florals and fleeces are simply two great trends for fashion in 2013.
From August 31 to September 8, Melbourne will be the place for fashionistas from around Australia and the world to see runway shows, listen to industry speakers and get involved with trade debates.
One of the highlights of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week calendar is the runway attractions. These will be located at the City Square on Swanson Street, where visitors will get to see free shows daily in between other fun and entertaining events at the Hub.

The first of these will be a collection of the newest offerings from fashion giant David Jones on September 2. It's a free show and there are no bookings, so be sure to head in early to one of the two shows to get a good seat.
If you're interested in the marketing and branding that goes into Australian fashion, then the Plenary discussion will offer insights into the growth in this exciting industry.
Gillian Franklin, managing director of the Heat Group, will be giving a presentation on the real story behind her rise to the top of the Australian retail market. Her talk will be followed by a panel discussion with some of the biggest names in the country's fashion sector who will be debating the key issues in the industry.
This Plenary discussion is a great choice for anyone looking to get into the industry themselves, so be sure to nab a ticket to this September 3 event.
It's not too late to book your Melbourne accommodation either, whether you're visiting the city or just want to be in the midst of the excitement.
