Sydney doesn't just live and breathe fashion - this year, Sydney is fashion.

The Sydney is Fashion 2014 festival comprises a collection of events in the city's CBD and inner suburbs. Spread between Tuesday September 4 and Saturday September 27, Sydney will shed its winter coat and showcase some stunning summer fashions at a variety of different outings.

Start with Vogue's Fashion Night Out, kicking off the first day in a variety of CBD retailers. Get your credit card out and shop like a Vogue VIP. There will be free, exclusive fashion shows, in-store events, music performances and even live cover shoots on the night, which takes place from 5.00 pm until 10.00 pm.

The Fashion in the Villages event is on September 20 and 21, with Sydney's main streets putting on a fashion celebration to remember. The dedicated weekend program takes place in the boutiques of the inner city, and is run by Australian Week co-founded Lorraine Lock. Support your local stores and rediscover the magic of shopping within your neighbourhood, and enjoy special VIP events, offers, art installations and in-store designer guests while you're at it.

Finally, the main event. Sydney is Fashion culminates with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney, mostly centred around the Sydney and Lower Town Hall. This hotly-anticipated event gives you the chance to get front row and see designers and models strut their stuff at the Town Hall, with plenty of glitz and glam to match. This will give you a sneak peek of what you can expect to see in stores in coming seasons, and showcases the absolute best of Australian designers.

Book a ticket to the runway shows and enjoy reasonably priced exclusive experiences. Don't forget to also reserve your holiday accommodation - Mantra 2 Bond Street will put you right in the heart of the action and gives you the choice between executive studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments.
