Posted By Holly On July 10, 2013

et ready for a free opera performance for your Broadbeach family holiday. An adventure to Broadbeach this October will reward visitors with a free opera performance in the park.

Staying in either Mantra Broadbeach on the Park or Mantra Sierra Grand will ensure you are about as close to the centre of this lively city as possible, and either will offer you an enjoyable and restful holiday.

The operatic event is scheduled for October 5 in Kurrawa Park, where you will get to see an Australian performance of the Phantom of the Opera.

Donald Cant is a well-known opera performer who has sung for the queen, and now he can sing for you on your Gold Coast family holiday in the role of the Phantom.

In the lead role of Christine, Danielle Everett will be wowing audiences with her musical and theatrical talents.

If you're not already familiar with this classic opera, you can expect a story of a Parisian 'phantom' who is ashamed of his physical appearance but dotes upon the beautiful Christine.

"Andrew Lloyd Webber's score is famed for its ability to captivate audiences, and the tragic love story is renowned for bringing a tear to the eye of even the most staunch opera fans. "

Gaston Leroux wrote the book series on which many movies and musicals have since been based from 1909 through to early 1910. The series actually did not sell particularly well and has largely been overshadowed by these theatre performances and film adaptations.

The musical was first performed in Her Majesty's Theatre in October 1986, and has since undergone dozens of productions worldwide.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's score is famed for its ability to captivate audiences, and the tragic love story is renowned for bringing a tear to the eye of even the most staunch opera fans.

So bring along a blanket, a picnic with plenty of nibbles and drinks, gather the family together, and enjoy this free event under the stars in stunning Broadbeach!
