If you like to read, write or even just ponder about the world we live in, you'll want to mark your calendar for the upcoming Melbourne Writers Festival.

The exciting eleven day program features a thrilling series of events including panel discussions, film screenings, debates, workshops, book launches, performances, development sessions and more, all featuring some of Australia's - and the world's - leading writers.

Literary names you might recognise making appearances include Morris Gleitzman, Alice Pung, Jackie French, Andy Griffiths, John Marsden, Arnold Zable and many, many more.

There's also a dedicated series of children's sessions and a Schools' Program.

The festival runs between August 21 and 31, with events taking place across a variety of Locations in Melbourne. From the main hub of Federation Square to the Town Hall, ArtPlay space and more, there are over 300 events in total held around the city throughout the festival period.

Make your literary dreams come true by heading along to this event to meet a favourite writer, learn more about the craft or writing or to simply soak in some new knowledge and enlightenment from all the wisdom that will be on offer.
