Head to Adelaide this July for the International Guitar Festival.Get your strings ready for the Adelaide International Guitar Festival

It's time to get your instrument tuned up and ready because the Adelaide International Guitar Festival is coming to town.

This four-day, immersive experience is heading to Adelaide from July 17 to 20, and will present a range of performances, workshops, master classes, panel discussions and much more.

Musicians from around Australia - and all over the world - will head to Adelaide for the festival, spanning all different genres and styles of music.

Famous Australian guitarist Slava Grigoryan is curating the festival, with his talent, knowledge, experience and fantastic attitude sure to make the festival a wonderful experience for all. Even better, many of the events are free.

Head to the no-cost exhibition GuitarART on Friday July 18 at the Dunstan Playhouse Foyer. Here, you'll get to see guitars transformed into works of art by emerging artists aged between 18 and 30. Or you should stop by the Cultural Harmonies exhibit, which explores how South Australia's cultural identity has been communicated through music.

Another highlight is sure to be the performance by José Antonio Rodríguez Trio and special guests Flamenco Areti, which will take place on opening night. Experience the world of flamenco guitar and the passion that comes with it.

If you're a great guitarist yourself, enter the '15 Minutes of Fame' contest. This involves performing at an open mic show that will be record for the public to vote on. The winning act will go on to perform at the Festival Finale event on Sunday July 20.

Book your holiday accommodation so you can be in Adelaide for this exciting musical extravaganza.

Mantra Hindmarsh Square is a great option, located right in the heart of Adelaide so you can travel easily to the festival events of your choice. Enjoy a studio, or a one- or two-bedroom suite for a stay in Adelaide to remember.
