The Easter break is fast approaching, and with it comes the exciting opportunity to escape your everyday routine and enjoy a chance of scene.

If you need any inspiration for where to go, check out these ideas. Whether travelling as a family, couple or single person, there's a whole lot of fun and relaxation waiting all over the country.

A family holiday in Brisbane

Queensland is home to some wonderfully warm weather and Brisbane city has plenty of things to see, making it a great choice for your next Easter getaway. It's perfect for the kids too, with a whole range of entertaining activities. Make your way to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where the family will love getting up close and personal with the animals.

Then there is the vast array of parks and green spaces - try Roma Street Parkland for a picnic and a chance to relax in the outdoors.

There are also some great day trips within reach such as Moreton Island, just a ferry ride away. Explore its tropical surrounds and be sure to pack your swimmers.

A couples' retreat in Sydney

Sydney is perfect for couples, with a whole host of romantic destinations and activities on offer.

Whether it's standing hand-in-hand watching the sunset over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, sipping on a glass of wine waterside or taking a romantic stroll through the Centennial Parklands, this sophisticated metropolis is perfect for a pair of starry-eyed lovers.

For an extra special experience together, why not head to Glenworth Valley north of central Sydney to enjoy a tranquil horseriding expedition through some 3,000 acres of breath-taking scenery?

Explore Wollongong

Want to indulge in some 'you' time this Easter and travel alone? Try Wollongong for a number of adventures and discoveries.

Laze on the area's beautiful sandy shores, such as Bellambi or Corrimal Beaches - just two of many stunning spots. Enjoy kilometres of soft sand, endless deep blue ocean and plenty of grassy areas for picnicking.

For a beautiful view of Wollongong, stroll up to the Hill 60 Lookout where stunning vistas abound in every direction. Around and about, you'll also notice sites of Aboriginal significance, and even relics that remain from the time of World War II.

A holiday with a difference in Hobart

For something a little out of the ordinary, head to Hobart! This Tasmanian city is known for its wonderful cultural attractions, supreme natural surrounds and a great laid-back way of life.

Couples will love wandering the atmospheric streets, lined by romantic Georgian and sandstone buildings. Hunt for a memento at the Salamanca Markets or dine al fresco along one of Salamanca Places' eateries.

Head out of town on a day trip and discover the many spectacular - and incredibly scenic - vineyards dotted around the island.

Families will love a visit to Port Arthur, where the remains of a former penal colony are found. Explore the narrow stone corridors and eerie prison cells and come nightfall you can even take a paranormal ghost tour.
