Everybody knows that Ironman events are some of the most challenging on offer, and athletes from around the world train with the utmost dedication to get themselves ready to push their limits when the big event comes.

In April on the Gold Coast there's one event Australian athletes can really get behind, and that's the Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial. This event is dedicated to the much-respected Luke Harrop, a triathlete who died tragically in 2002.

Runners from all over Australia come to run in this event that began in Currumbin in 1989, which is now the Gold Coast's signature triathlon event.

This year's event is scheduled for April 13, meaning there's still plenty of time to get yourself organised to head along to this great event! It's held at the Broadwater Parklands in Southport, which is close to plenty of great attractions as well as holiday accommodation

For example Mantra Circle on Cavill is just a five minute drive from where the Triathlon is held, so you're super close to all the action. Not only will you be close to the main event, you'll have beaches, cafes, nightlife, malls and countless restaurants and eateries right at your fingertips! That's what a holiday is all about after all.

Choose from a One Bedroom Spa or Ocean View, Two Bedroom Spa or Ocean View, Three Bedroom Apartment, or Three Bedroom Penthouse. Enjoy the great facilities, including two lagoon style pools and indoor heated pool, sauna, spa, steam room and fully equipped gymnasium. There's a BBQ area and zen gardens if you feel like dining outside, otherwise you're spoilt for choice with the surrounding eatery options.

Head along to support the amazing triathletes while enjoying a fantastic holiday all of your own.
