Australia's fashion elite converge for Fashion Week. Get set for a catwalk frenzy as Fashion Week takes over Sydney

From April 6-10, Australia's fashion elite will descend on Sydney in a swarm of glitz, glamour and sartorial power as the city hosts the 2014 edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

This is your opportunity to see the spring/summer collections of Australia's leading designers and the perfect time to pick up some handy tips on where your wardrobe is headed in the new season. All the action will be happening at Carriageworks, Sydney's go-to venue for all things creative, artistic and visionary, in what is certain to be one of the most anticipated events in Sydney.

Following in the tradition of London, Paris, New York and Milan, Australia's very own Fashion Week promises to be filled with excitement for anyone interested in style. This celebration of fashion and culture will bring together Australia's most loved and avant-garde designers with the country's leading retailers and famous faces from music, television, film and much more.

Expect controlled mayhem as models, designers, makeup and hair artists, fashion journalists and style stars collide during the glittering lineup of events.

Keep your eyes peeled for the latest trends as they come parading down the runway. There will also be more intimate presentations to enjoy as well as several industry events so you can mix and mingle with the best of them.

Everyone from Aurelio Costarella and Alex Perry to Kirrily Johnston and Shakuhachi are set to be involved in this year's Fashion Week Australia, with each designer bringing their own unique influences to the table.

It's going to be a whirlwind of fun and excitement, so you'll want to have your holiday accommodation sorted before you make your way to the shows. Mantra 2 Bond Street is a convenient choice, offering a central Sydney location with spacious apartments and an on-site cafe and bar.
