In addition to this, the event aims to honour all the other servicemen and women who have served in wars, combat zones and various other areas of conflict throughout Australia and New Zealand's history.

"This year in Brisbane there is a unique event that can help you honour and pay homage to the brave soldiers who fought in this war.

Head to Brisbane to pay tribute to these brave individuals yourself, and run the 6 km or 12 km route. The longer route starts at Anzac Square on Ann Street beginning at 6.30 a.m, and is set to finish up at the Brisbane Showgrounds. At this point there will be refreshments, military bands and other displays and celebrations to enjoy. The 6 km route can also be traversed starting at Victoria Park.

With all the physical activity you're about to commit to, you're going to want some nice holiday accommodation to rest those feet up at the end of the day.

Mantra on Queen is less than two kilometres from the finishing line at the Brisbane Showgrounds, so you'll be well placed for your visit.

Enjoy a one or two bedroom apartment, an outdoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, sauna, spa, and restaurant and bar during your stay.
