Take in the Twelve Apostles along Great Ocean Road.Road trip your way along the Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road is an Australian icon, leading to some of the most majestic natural wonders our beautiful country has to offer.

Summer is the perfect time to experience the great outdoors in Victoria, and what better way to do so than taking a road trip to fully soak up the atmosphere? You can stop off at attractions along the way and take the trip at your own pace. Just make sure you've got some holiday accommodation sorted out so you're not left stranded!

Check in to Mantra Lorne for the perfect location from which to enjoy Victoria's greatest natural scenery. Surrounded by acres of lush gardens and perched on the beachfront, the resort has everything you need to relax and unwind after long stretches of travelling on the road. Release tension with a game of tennis, a leisurely dip in the pool or book in a spa session - all onsite!

From here, you've got a range of stunning attractions right at your fingertips. Great Otway national Park is just an hour's drive away and will spoil you with stunning rugged coastlines, rock platforms, windswept sandy beaches and breathtaking waterfalls. Make sure you take the time to visit Cape Otway Lightstation for a chance to witness the oldest surviving lighthouse on the Australian mainland.

Once you've strolled through the ferny gullies and soaked up the great outdoors, keep heading down Great Ocean road until you reach the 12 Apostles just before Port Campbell National Park. These rock stacks are world famous for a reason - they are simply spectacular. Rising dramatically out of the Southern Ocean, the rocks reach heights of up to 45m and are especially stunning at sunrise and sunset. Stay a while and watch the changing light dance along the rocks - just make sure you've got your camera at the ready!
