See nature and fashion collide at the inaugural Royal Botanic Runway. Catch the best of Australian fashion at the Royal Botanic Runway

Fashion and flora will collide in beautiful new ways at the Royal Botanic Runway, a new event to help raise funds for the final stage of the Melbourne Water Strategy project.

Watch over 60 local and international models strut down an open air runway, showcasing the best of Australian designers Akira Isogawa, Collette Dinnigan, Martin Grant and Aurelio Costarella.

Held in the lush surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Mantra has plenty of holiday accommodation in the area to make it an easy trip there and back.

Mantra on Jolimont is an easy walk away from the gardens as well as many other attractions like the Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne Cricket Ground, so it's the perfect base for any Melbourne getaway.

The Royal Botanic Runway will kick off on January 30, 2014, so make sure you're there to catch all of the excitement.

About the Runway

This is the inaugural launch of the Royal Botanic Runway and it's sure to be a spectacular showcase of sartorial skills. Each piece on display has been lovingly crafted by a range of Australian designers, and the beauty of the Royal Botanic Gardens is sure to add a whole new dimension to this unique fashion show.

The open air runway will be held in the stunning 'Guilfoyle's Volcano', a historic water reservoir which was the first stage of the Water Strategy project.

It has the capacity to hold up to 40 million litres of water, and once the entire Working Wetlands development is completed, Guilfoyle's Volcano will be part of the conservation efforts to keep the botanic gardens drought-proof.

This special fashion show is set to be one of the biggest events in Melbourne in the new year, so make sure you get your tickets sorted before they're all gone!
