Relax at Rainbow Beach when you're in Queensland this summer. Relax at Rainbow Beach this summer

If you haven't yet experienced the sparkling shores of Rainbow Beach, you've simply got to get there this summer.

It's only a two and a half hour drive from Brisbane but it truly seems like a world of its own. The beautiful coast is a gateway to some of the most spectacular natural attractions in Australia, so if you're looking for serenity, sunshine and picturesque surrounds, you can't go past it.

What to do

Set off to Tin Can Bay for an eco-tourism experience unlike any other. The peaceful seaside location is well known for its fishing activities, so bring your rod and cast a line out at your leisure.

Birdwatchers will delight in the Environmental Walkway, where you can spy over 130 bird species flitting about in their natural habitat.

Cruise along the estuaries via kayak or canoe, or take a boat or yacht out in the inlet to feel the breeze in your hair as you soar across the sparkling seas of the bay.

Where to eat

Waterview Bistro offers some of the most stunning views to Fraser Island you can find. Once you get past the scenery, your tastebuds will be delighted by ever-changing seasonal menus based on local produce.

Have a sumptuous sit-down meal or graze on snacks at the bar while you sip on an expertly assembled cocktail.

Where to stay

Before you set off to the northern tip of the Sunshine Coast, make sure you've booked in your holiday accommodation. Check out Mantra Rainbow Shores for stunning standalone lodges nestled amongst secluded natural bushland, right next to the beach.

Onsite is a nine hole golf course for you to test out your sporting prowess, a 25m pool for you to swim some laps before hitting the waves and a spa to relax in at the end of a day of sightseeing.
