It's the highlight of every cricket-lover's Christmas calendar - the annual Boxing Day test.

Held in the bustling city of Melbourne, the event will attract locals and tourists alike. If you're planning to hit the capital for a day of fun in the sun, make sure you've booked your holiday accommodation.

Mantra on Jolimont is the perfect place for sports fans to stay. It's only a minute's walk to the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where the test is held, and is also close to AAMI Park, Rod Laver Arena, Olympic Park Stadium, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Victorian Arts Centre.

This year's test match is against England, who is one of Australia's biggest rivals on the pitch. There's been fierce competition between the two sides this year, so if you're wondering what to do in Melbourne this summer, you can't go past this event.

Day three of the Commonwealth Bank Ashes Test is Toyota Family day where kids can attend free with an adult. That means there's no excuse not to bring the whole family down and teach them about one of our nation's favourite pastimes.

The biggest sporting event of the summer will feature a Milo play bay to keep kids entertained, along with a family zone where cricket skills will be put to the test and fans can get autographs from their favourite players.
