Come November 15, over 230 local and international artists will turn Melbourne into a vibrant hub of eclectic sounds, as Melbourne Music Week (MMW) takes over various venues around the city with a jam packed lineup.

This year, music lovers can look forward to a variety of free events, films, exhibitions, workshops and even a 'live music safari'. It's one of the biggest events in Melbourne every year, so make sure you've got your plans sorted if you want to catch this year's electrifying program.

About Melbourne Music Week

Melbourne Music Week is a celebration of all things musical, artistic and creative, recognising the strength of local talent while also exposing audiences to up-and-comers from around the world.

This is the fourth year the festival has been held, and it's sure to be better than ever with over 100 events planned, more than 230 artists secured and a total of 75 event partners helping to bring the festival to life.


"You'll be spoiled for musical choices this year, with everyone from Gotye and Adrian Bell to Terrible Truths and Neon Love all set to take the stage in various venues.


With 75 per cent of the artists involved coming from Victoria and plenty of local partnerships with businesses, venues and labels, it's a perfect opportunity to experience some of the best that Melbourne has to offer when it comes to music and the arts.

Mantra has a variety of holiday accommodation in the area as well, such as Mantra 100 Exhibition right in the heart of Melbourne. With its convenient location, you'll be able to explore the festival and the rest of the city's hidden gems right from the doorstep of the hotel.

This year's program

You'll be spoiled for musical choices this year, with everyone from Gotye and Adrian Bell to Terrible Truths and Neon Love all set to take the stage in various venues.

On November 21, a special live music safari will take place with 13 venues offering free events and performances from over 40 local artists. It's all on for one night only, so grab your friends and get exploring - you never know what discoveries you'll make.
