Take time out while travelling to get some exercise.Health tips for travellers

Travelling, whether near or far, can sometimes leave you vulnerable to the risk of seasonal illness and becoming run down.

Help protect your health on your next trip by following these business travel tips.

Prepare your medication

There's nothing worse than running out of a prescription in an unfamiliar city. Pre-empt this problem by ensuring you have enough of your regular medication to last you the duration of your trip. This will save you from trying to book doctor's appointments and locate pharmacies while you're away.

If you travel with large quantities of medicine it's a good idea to divide the portions amongst your luggage. This way, if a bag goes missing, you should still have a supply in a different item of luggage.

"If you stay at corporate accommodation such as Mantra apartments, you may want to take advantage of the on-site fitness rooms in order to get a work out. Alternatively, you might want to get some exercise by walking around local parks or the city.

Get check-ups before you go

If you're travelling for a lengthy period of time you might want to have your routine check-ups before you leave your home town. This may include a full medical check-up, eyesight evaluation and dental assessment.

Pack a small medical kit with basic first aid tools to ensure you're always ready for action, no matter what part of the world you find yourself in.

Stay active and eat well

It's sometimes tempting to think of business travel as a big holiday, where diet and exercise go out the window. Unfortunately, this can become detrimental to your health, so it's best to keep up a regular routine while you're away.

If you stay at corporate accommodation such as Mantra apartments, you may want to take advantage of the on-site fitness rooms in order to get a work out. Alternatively, you might want to get some exercise by walking around local parks or the city, where you can find fresh produce and healthy meals that won't add inches to your waistline.

If you're lucky enough to stay near a beach, take advantage of the location and try out yoga or jog along the sandy shores.
