Federation Square will come alive on November 16 for the Ride of the Valkyries, signifying the arrival of Wagner's Ring cycle to Melbourne. There will be an official City of Melbourne welcome with a mass of brass bands taking the stage to celebrate the event. The Valkyries themselves will arrive on horseback, which will surely delight audiences young and old.
This, like many other events throughout the festival, is free for audiences.
After a big day of enjoying the festivities, you can head down to Arts Centre Melbourne's Festspielhaus for relaxation, rejuvenation, chit chat and a few drinks to celebrate. You'll be entertained by free live music, singing, circus performances and much more.
