Australian golf fans have a great summer of sport lined up ahead of them, with major events such as the Emirates Australian Open and the World Cup of Golf all taking place in the months to come.

New South Wales

From November 28, the Emirates Australian Open will be sweeping through the course at the Royal Sydney Golf Club, pitching the best of the best against each other in a battle to take out the title.

The Australian Open is a time-honoured tournament that stretches back to 1904, and many of the sport's greatest stars have played their hearts out for the competition, including Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.

Victoria

There are quite a few golfing events lined up for Victoria, most notably the Gold World Cup in Melbourne from November 21, one of the biggest sporting events in Melbourne for the year.

From November 26 to 29 the Men's & Women's Dunes Medal tournament will also be taking place at The Dunes Golf Links. This major Australian Amateur Ranking Event involves stroke play over 72 holes and is one of the most important dates on the amateur calendar.

Next year, the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open will also be taking Victoria by storm. Held from February 13-16, this national Open Women's Championship will see a total of 156 players battling for the win.
