For golf enthusiasts, one of the most exciting upcoming events in Perth has got to be the 2013 Perth International tournament.

Won by American Bo Van Pelt last year, the return of the Perth International this year will see some more exciting names take the field and battle it out for the title.

The tournament will be held at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club from October 17-20. For those seeking holiday accommodation in the area, Mantra on Murray and Mantra On Hay are both located conveniently nearby.

All about the Perth International

Co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour, the $2 million Perth International promises to be an exciting four days for golf fans.

It will be held at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club, Western Australia's premier golf course with a par rating of 72. Some of the brightest names in competitive golf will be coming out swinging at the Perth International, including Branden Grace, Brett Rumford and defending champion Bo Van Pelt.

Australia's own leading amateur golfer Brady Watt and 12-time European Tour event winner Paul Casey are also confirmed to compete in this year's competition.

The event officially kicks off on October 17 with the first round of the tournament, finishing up with round four on October 20.

A good point to remember is that cameras aren't allowed on the course as they can distract the players. So, if you're hoping to get some snaps of your favourite athletes then it's best to come along to the practice days or the Pro-Am tournament on October 16.
